Tragedy struck in Lagos on Wednesday, 13th of March when a three-storey building housing a children’s school collapsed at 56 Massey Street, Lagos Island.
Ohen Nursery and Primary School occupied the first and second floors of the collapsed building while residents live on the ground floor.
Upon the collapse of the building, many men in the neighborhood rushed to the scene and were able rescue few pupils before the arrival of LASEMA officials and other rescue teams.
There’s still a lot of schools like OHEN NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL LOCATED IN THE HEART OF LAGOS ISLAND IN AREAS NOT CONDUCIVE FOR LEARNING . WE IMPLORE THE GOVERNMENTS TO LOOK INTO THESE SCHOOLS AND CLOSE THEM DOWN TO PREVENT FUTURE DISASTERS . We sympathize with the families and Residents of Lagos Island as this incident has left everyone in a devastating mood.
